JP Spotlight
JPJC’s signature event, JP Spotlight, significantly marked the end of the first term of 2025 on a high note! This year’s theme was ‘JP Cinematic Universe’, bringing movies to life! Under the guidance of Mdm. Shamala and Mr. Wang Zhongxiang, the Student Planning Committee (SPC) curated an engaging and impactful Spotlight event, where both participants and audience were able to immerse themselves in this memorable experience.

From thrilling dance performances to soulful melodies and even a mesmerising rope skipping routine, this year’s spotlight featured an outstanding display of talent through various forms of art. Each act truly captivated the audience, leaving a profound and lasting impact. After an intense contest of skills and talents, ‘Stepped Up’, a dance troupe consisting of Valyn (24S03), Emily (24S07), Serene (24S04) and Torres (24S02) was crowned the champion of JP Spotlight 2025! Their energetic moves truly enticed and hyped the audience up. Coming in close as first runner-up is TBC, a band formed by J (24A03), Jaycus (24A03), Vanessa (24A03), Leandra (25A01), Sudeeptha (24A05) and Amber (24A03), that successfully created a vibrant atmosphere through their immersive performance of a Bruno Mars classic, Treasure! Last but not least, Horizon, a dynamic band - made up of Jin Yang (24S06), Trisha (24A02), Megan (24S19), Casper (24S08) and Aniq (24S07), emerged as the second runner-up. With their delightful vibes and music, the band truly lit up the stage and brought the cinematic scene to life.

One of the most exciting moments of JP Spotlight 2025 was the game segment, where participants took on the challenge of Guess the Movie with Emojis, sparking laughter and friendly competition. The event also featured captivating performances and costumes, including a special teachers’ act sung by Ms. Foo Fang Fang and Mr. Dennis Lee. What’s more, the judging panel; Mr Ang (Principal), Mr Subash (Year Head), Ms Veron, Mr Chu, Ms Thandar and Ms Vani, donned film costumes which added a delightful surprise to the event, and a lively singalong session led by Zoe, with students and teachers joining in to wrap up the yearly affair.

With its mix of fun, energy, and community spirit, JP Spotlight 2025 truly brought the #WhyJP experience to life. As the curtains close on Term 1, we can’t wait to see what Spotlight 2026 has in store!
